Lisa exhibiting as part of the farOpen Open Studio Event 2024 in the Forest of Dean.
About Lisa
Lisa started her training at Somerset College of Art and Technology with a BTEC National Diploma in General Art and Design, finishing this in July 1994. Then went on to study for a BA(Hons) Arts and Humanities Degree in Fine Art at De Montfort University in Leicester.
Upon finishing her degree in 1997, she entered the retail industry, utilising her expertise in colour and design for visual merchandising and window displays.
After many years Lisa realised how much she missed painting and the time in the studio. So after some great opportunities, Lisa and husband moved and changed their pace of life. They now live in the Forest of Dean and feel so happy they made those choices when they did.
Inspiration comes from the plants with their scent, a change in the weather or the seasons. All these observations use Lisa's passion for colour and shape and have always been at the heart of her art work. The paintings work less with realism in nature and more with the creation of sculptural forms that are made between the lines and the outlines.
Utilising sprayed paint, in oil and acrylic, Lisa encourages the paint to interact and blend in to the surface and the textures are enhanced and highlight the landscape Lisa is referencing.
As an active member of farOpen, hArt and Forest Makers within her local area, she enjoys these opportunities to work with like minded people and support these groups with volunteering when ever possible to help artists support artists.
Please feel free to contact Lisa with any questions or other opportunities through the Contact page.
